Service Description

This hands-on workshop is perfect for jewelers looking to be more sustainable and utilize their existing metal inventory. Learn the essential process of preparing silver scrap for reuse through melting and casting. ✨ What You Will Learn Crucible Preparation: Master the technique of properly seasoning a ceramic crucible for clean, efficient melts. Scrap Sorting: Learn how to effectively sort and prepare various types of silver scrap (sterling, fine silver, odds and ends) for casting. Casting Techniques: You will learn and practice two valuable casting methods: Ingot Casting: Pouring metal into molds to create ingots suitable for drawing down into wire or sheet. Water Casting: Creating organic, textured forms ready to be used as unique elements in future jewelry designs or for further casting.

Due to our limited seating space, once a class is booked and paid for, it cannot be refunded. We can however add you to our registration list for the next time we run this class. We can also work with you to reschedule this class on on a one-to-one basis, though there is an additional $35 fee for this.
